:(i started with what i thought was a UTI but after two days my pain became severe, so severe I went to the ER. They found blood in my urine and ordered a cat scan. They found a kidney stone.
My question now is this. i have some moderate pain in my back flank area and on my right side but nothing like i was having. Will the pain come back severe or has the worst passed? i know i haven't passed the stone because i was given a strainer to use. In addition to the pain I am running a fever, chilling all the time until I fall sleep day or night it doesn’t matter. When sleeping my fever breaks and my pillow and sheets become wet along with my pj’s. Is this normal?
take care

Hopefully it will come out on its own.If it does the pain might come back ,might not
however drink lots of water and get it out
make sure you follow up with a doctor to see if it came out or not.Sometimes they get stuck and we dont know it which can become very dangous
if you get a temp ,chills ect ect return to the doctor since some stones cause infections
ive heard drinking real lemon aid ( home made) helps also.Heating pad, warm showers or baths, peeing standing up might help

depends on wear it is at

Izzy,
I had an infection that wouldn't go away and that's how I found out about my kidney stones. Took 500mg of Cipro too. I have had 5 lithos because I had 4 large stones, 2 in each kidney.
As for getting the stones to pass, I can say from experience, AFTER I had the lithotripsy, the more I could move around, the more pieces I passed. Of course, with your infection, you probably don't feel like doing very much. And drinking LOTS of water helps too.
