I have had every test in the book about my heart and it is a strong 34 year old heart. I quit smoking about 4 months ago and recently started up again, due to stress. When I stopped smoking my resting heart rate was anywhere from 45-60 and my blood pressure ran about 100/60...good ...now that I have started smoking again (and I have a terrible sinus infection that has settled in my chest now and have been coughing like a crazy person) my heart rate is anywhere between 80 and 120...and my blood pressure has gone up a bit to about 115/80. Is it normal for your pulse rate to go up and blood pressure as well while smoking and having an infection?

Any input would be great.

Thanks,
Sara

Sara- The answer is yes and yes!
I have a sneaky suspicion that you know this already but just needed some confirmation.

You have a healthy 34 year old heart....try to quit smoking again and it'll stay that way. Not too late to do yourself a lot of good!
