Hi there,

I've recently lost 30 lbs. on my homemade diet--basically, just changed the way I eat, going vegan, eating mostly fruits and grains. I'm really happy with how things have been coming along, but my biggest headache is that I seem to be losing it everywhere but in my bust (where I wanted to lose it the most). Please don't laugh; I know it's a dream of a lot of ladies to have big boobs, but mine are uncomfortable and cause me to wear clothes much larger than I need just so I can fit it all in. Tank tops look weird on me, and I have nice dresses that fit everywhere but on top. :( I've tried minimizers, but they're killing my shoulders! I read up on certain exercises, but I've also heard that can INCREASE your bust size. I really just want to lose a cup size (D to C) and I'd be thrilled! What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

You cannot target-burn fat. Your body will burn from fat reserves through your whole body (im sure there are some factors that effect which areas get more attention than others). Because of this all you can really do is keep at it until your at a comfortable body fat percentage and hope your body will burn enough of the reserves to make you satisfied with your bust.

Hi Anna,

Congrats on the 30 lbs! That's great. I have the same problem you do. I just started my diet yesterday, have been putting it off until I am at a point that I HAVE to do it now. I have dieted on and off most of my life, and find that I have the hardest time losing weight in my breast. The sad thing is most women I know complain they lose their breast first! If you have never lost this much weight, I hate to tell you this.....but I have gotten down to my ideal weight and still be in a D cup. Here is the good news......instead of a FULL D I can have a comfortable D. I lost over 45 lbs. on my last diet and just KNEW I would at least get into a C! Didn't happen. I got down so small, people were telling me not to lose anymore, but didn't get out of my D.

Oddly, the first place I notice weight lose is underneath my arms. HA! Look for this too.....as I will bet you have the same kind of body make up that I do. I lift my arms and when that little flab underneath is gone I will then start to shed in other areas. Since I have found this out about myself, it helps me because I know not to look for belly fat or butt fat to start leaving until that flab of skin is gone.

Good Luck and keep up the good work!!

Thanks a lot for the responses.

I've lost...um, maybe a half cup size with the (now) 35 pounds I've shed. I was about 50 lbs overweight, so have another 15 or 20 lbs. left to do before I reach my target. I fear I won't go down very far. :(

If it helps, Mileen, I switched from the killer miminizer to a racerback sports bra a few days ago. I get the same effect (I think) without the pain.

Anna,

Switched to the sports bra some years ago when I was getting bruising from the underwire on the minimizers.
They are MUCH cheaper, but you have to buy them more often.....they wear out under the weight. I think it is a great compromise though, and hope they NEVER stop making them!!

Sports bras are always so comfy! Unfortunately I usually have to wear two at a time while jogging, even with a C cup, or it can be painful! Some sports bras just aren't very thick.

It really does depend on the person. I know some people who gain/lose in their breasts FIRST and some people don't. I usually stay about the same size.

In addition to dieting, do you have any fitness routine? Doing cardio exercise should burn fat all over and won't make your chest larger. It's doing chest workouts that can build the muscle underneath that can make your chest look bigger. It IS a good idea to do back exercises with a big chest though so they don't feel as heavy.
