My DH and I are on day 5 of not smoking, he's using the patch and I'm using the gum. I've been using less gum than I thought I'd need. But based on how irritable I am right now I wonder if I actually am underestimating how much I need.

I'm having such trouble with insomnia, not sure why. Also in the last few days have had upper back pain and the feeling of my spine being kind of "crunched". Or compacted perhaps. Is this back pain normal? It sometimes is just my back and other times it's my chest and back at the same time.

I think this time is the real deal, we've attempted to quit before but never made it this long with no slips. He's a 2.5 pack/day smoker and I am/was a 25 cigarette/day smoker. So one part of quitting that I'm enjoying watching is our $$$ savings add up! As of day we've now saved about $90. Incredible. I can't believe we were spending so much on cigarettes. It didn't seem like that at the time but now that we've quit and I'm adding the real cost up it's just amazing.

hi everyone,
I too got the aches and pains all over. Also I had just a general bad feeling that my body was not right or something. Do you all ever get that?
I wish you all luck. It certainly is no easy accomplishment.
