Ok well this is going to have alot of words and many test results and stuff, so please read carefully and answer me seriously. My doctor decided to test my adrenal gland, and all my hormones along with everything basic- for the second time ( last time she did was before I lost 50 lbs) I originally went to this doctor( Endocrinologist) for female problems, but anyways. These new tests have shown more things that are off than my female problems. first of all my Aldesterone is two times has high as it should be. Along with my sodium levels were below normal- enough for her to put me on a high sodium diet along with 24 salt tablets over two days to see the fluctuation, and then she did another test- and my sodium levels were still below what is considered normal. They also put me on a low sodium diet for a few days to see the fluctuation in sodium then. She got those back, but the nurse couldn't discuss them with me.

Ok, now today my nurse calls and says that My doctor would like to send
order forms to have a urine test to check my sodium levels in my urine and to test creatnine( not sure if thats how it is spelled.). I live an hour away from this doctor so they will do those at my lab this week, and fax them to her. She said she wasn't discussing my results with me until she gets all my results back ( the other aldesterone , and etc she did why I was on the high and low sodium diets.) I am so confused as to what is going on, and I know I should wait before getting worried- but I can't help it. If anyone knows what this sounds like or has gone through something similar, or has any insight as to what might be going on and could ease my mind, or at least tell me my worries are warranted. It will be till at least Thursday before I hear anything from my doctor.

I was also like to add pituitary and adrenal insufficiency has been ruled out. my blood pressure is always normal.

I would also like to add that I have been dizzy whenever I lay down/ sit up and she was a little worried about that also. Any information or insight or experiences on my situation would be greatly appreciated.

How is your blood pressure, Nicole? Just wondering if you could have hypertension.

I find that we, the patients, tend to worry too much. Since we can't change the outcome of any of the tests, why worry about what they might reveal? I know it's our nature to always assume the worst. Your doctor is wise in waiting to have all of the test results before trying to determine what the problem is. Some of the problems go undiagnosed. You may find it hard to believe that a diagnosis will set your mind at ease. It is nice to know what you're dealing with instead of going around in circles.

Wishing you the best of luck - please keep us posted.

Alright, well I am back from the doctor, and everything with the creatnine was fine, and so was sodium urine, but my doctor said my situation is wierd and she had never see this before let me go through everything that I have done- sorry if I repeat a little bit of what I said Before:

Alright.. some background on the situation, I Had been dizzy, missed periods, and etc. My doctor decided to run some tests. Well, the first tests she ran were hormones and did the cortisol to test my pituitary gland. I have been on Metformin since July and my period still hasn't came.. I have even lost 55 lbs. So these tests were to check out everything and make sure nothing else was wrong. Well all the tests came back normal except my aldesterone, it was two times as high as it should be, but they checked adrenal insufficiency and nothing was wrong with my adrenal gland. So my doctor checked my sodium , potassium, etc. Well my sodium was low- so she decided to do some sodium tests, and put me on a high sodium diet, for two days test my aldesterone and sodium, then put me on a low sodium diet and check my sodium and aldesterone again. Well she got those back and the results were this, on the high sodium diet along with 24 salt pills over two days my aldesterone was 7 ( it was 32 before and now it was in the normal range.) my sodium was 137 then also normal. Then she put me on the low sodium diet and my aldesterone went back up to 40! My sodium was 126:(. So she ordered a urine creatnine and a sodium urine test to test kidney function , and those were fine. So she was stumped, she said she had never seen anything like it. Can someone tell me why this is weird? She told me I need to eat salt, and if I don't I need to take salt tablets- she also prescribed me Florinef to try ( prescribed for Addisons, and etc.) But my adrenal function was fine! She said to try and see if this helps, she said she had never seen someones body do this. I have to go back in two weeks for more tests! blah! Has anyone been through anything like this?
