I am 30 years old and have been diagnosed with a BAV with level 3 AR. I went to a prominent hospital for evaluation and they told me basically not to worry about it and to continue with what I am doing as long as I follow-up every year with an echo. My aorta is dilated as a result of this condition. My concern is this, everything I read about my condition says that activities should be limited as far as strenuous weight lifting and sports or it could worsen my condition. The cardiologists say otherwise. In addition, why would not I want to get this fixed before my heart goes into failure? Has anyone had a similar experience?
