I have been taking Cortef since I was diagnosed about 4 years ago. I now have the option to take the generic brand and save $60 a month. ( not having insurance is a bummer!) I was wondering if anyone has made the switch and if there were any side effects that came with it. I'm nervous eventhough the pharmasist swears its the same.

thanks :)

I have been taking the generic brand by West Ward since 1999. I like it better than the Cortef and I feel better as well. Don't be afraid to switch to this brand. I get the prescription filled for ther 20mg pills and cut them in half. This also saves a lot of money.

I switched and I had no problems. The pills are smaller and less chalky, so when you cut them, less powder all over.

I've always taken generic since switching from prednisone and i haven't had any problems at all with it. Of course, i can't compare since i've never used brand Cortef...

I just started generic cortef today. So far so good. It does take a while to equilibrate in the system, so I will check back in here as time goes by for me.
