Has anyone ever heard of taking xanax for throat constriction? I read somewhere on this board of someone recommending taking it for the constriction because it will help relax the throat muscles. My throat constriction is definitely not due to anxiety. I am just wondering if anyone has had success with it. I have had chronic day and night undiagnosed throat constriction for 6 years, have diagnosed myself as having LPR.

Research Magnesium. It is a natural muscle relaxer.

I take xanax and it does help but i also have terrible anxiety. You only need to take it if you have anxiety though.

Yes, it cacn help with the throat constrictions. You wouldnt need a high dose...it does not take it away but it does relax the throat a bit...and lets face it when your throat is tight you get anxiety..so it's a double edge sword!
