I have never used suboxone. I came off oxycodone by a slow taper. From what I read from my friends here, a slow, slow taper seems to work well. I am sure some of the sub users will post soon. Until then, I can share with you that tapering at about 5%-10% is a fast enough pace. You will feel some withdrawals even when tapering. After each cut, there can come the sweats, diarreha and anxiety. It will last a few days and then abate to a fair degree. This is the time to level off and let the body adjust. Then the next cut comes. On my own taper, I would cut a sliver off a tablet on one only of my daily doses. Then I would make a cut again in 2 weeks or so on another dose. ( I was on several doses a day when I started). Sometimes, I felt ready in ten days. Once in a while it took almost three weks. I believe in tapering a firm rule needs to be... Once we make a cut we don't go back up. In tapering, it is much more important to measure progress rather than time. Hope to see you around the board. All good wishes reach |
