View Full Version : Seizure? Anyone experienced this?!?

Hey guys,
I had my first, and hopefully last, Grandmal Seizure a year ago next month. I'm not on meds, and the doctors found no 'reason' for my seizure. It was pretty severe!

Anyway, yesterday I was driving and all of a sudden had a feeling of 'leaving my body' and the feeling that I experienced before I had my seizure. I felt rather dizzy after the split second of feeling like I 'left my body'. So, I immediately pulled over and parked and called my husband, who came and followed me home when I felt like driving.

I felt tired & drained the rest of the day, and really felt tired a few days before this 'spell' and even today.

My question - has anyone ever had this experience? Does anyone think it could have been a small seizure? Just wondering...

Ann77 welcome to the boards, your case could be seizures, that depends; the feelings yo felt the other day were similar to last years before you had the grand mal? Did the neuro do an EEG test last yr? Seizures can come at any time, and some people do have 1 or 2 episodes in their life without needing meds. Once again you should contact the neuro, stop driving if you continue to have such feeling, have him conduct the EEG and necessary test, not necessarilly is seizure disorder since you didnt have another attack but there could be a connection only the neuro can tell you. I wish you the best of luck, let us know how you feel... Laura

Yes, you can absolutely experience an "out of the body" feeling during a seizure, or an aura, which precipitates a seizure. I've experienced it myself and you did the right thing by pulling over and calling your husband. I agree that an EEG should be done and it will determine what's going on.
