I have been diagnosed with uctd, Raynold's primary disease and suffer from chronic hives. All are connected to each other because it is an auto immune disorder but are not associated to any other disease at the moment. Most likely I will be put on Plaquenil. This is suppose to help with all 3 conditions. What are the side effects? Does anyone suffer from chronic hives & what meds are helping control this annoying problem.

HI there, Well I too have been diagnosed with UCTD and deal with periodic hives that comes out of no where. I have been on plaquenil and have had great benefit from an arthritic point of view, however had to go off that medication as I became allergic after 3-4 months on it. I had a complete body rash and very bad itchiness...Besides becomming allergic, I had no ill side effects, it is a good drug to try...I am not on any meds now and got different creams from my dermo to deal with this autoimmune thing... Was diagnosed with UCTD as well and put on Plaqunil. Was doing fine with it for 5 weeks now and all of the sudden I have intense itching of the hands. Has this been any one elses experience?
