I am not sure whether the old board's messages will tranfer to this one. If not, I invite all who come to the old board to select one of the messages you found helpful and post it to this board so that others can find the information.

For those new to this board, the old board can be found at this address (for how long, I don't know)
http://www.healthboards.com/hepatitis/index.htm

For the record, this board has been an information board for those who want serious information about hepatitis. It is my hope that it remain this way.

I hope this helps,

It sounds as if you are one of the moderators or owners of the board. Just want to say hello and thank you.

No, sorry.

I happened upon this board a while ago and was upset that there wasn't better information available here.

Thanks for the compliment, though. I don't want the responsibility of being a monitor of this, or any other, board. Not enough time.

I do the best I can to come in and answer questions from time to time.

elcome to this board. I didn't mean for the message to sound as overbearing as it might. There are so many social boards, that it is a nice respite to have a board where people can go to get serious questions answered without wading through the irrelevant jokes and personal posts found on so many.

Best Wishes,

thanbey

The old HB format will be shut down to replies soon, so please encourage others to get registered here.

A link to the old board will remain, for reading purposes.

I was excited at first about the new boards, but I am afraid it does not seem to inspire the inquiries the old onw does and makes it much more difficult to answer the questions.

I do appreciate the old boards remaining available for reading, and I thank you for that.

I will not be coming here as often simply because this format takes so much more time.

Best wishes for the success of this new board.

David Satcher, the US Surgeon General, hasn't got enough money to buy the stamps for
those letters to all American households warning about hepatitis C. (USA Today, Sunday
November 12, 2000)

The last time a Surgeon General sent out such a letter, the reason was AIDS and the
Surgeon General was C. Everett Koop.

How about this for a response from the community?

Everyone who believes that this is an important issue send Dr. Satcher one stamp (more
if you wish) to help get the word out to the American people? We have the capacity to
make a difference for 66 cents each.

Can't this community put aside any and all differences to make one big statement about
how important this is and how much this community cares about hepatitis C awareness?
Shouldn't every American household be told about the risks of hepatitis C? The Surgeon
General thinks so and so do I.

If you agree, let's get this rolling. Forward this email to everyone you know. Tell your
friends, co-workers, everyone. Make sure everyone has the opportunity to be heard. Post
to message boards everywhere. Suggest others do the same and let's let this government
know this matters to us as a united group on this one issue....awareness.

Flood the Surgeon General with one postage stamp at a time. I guarantee the impact it
makes will make a difference and a statement that cannot be ignored. Let's leave no
doubt where we stand on this issue. Vote to improve the status of hepatitis C. Be heard!

Send the stamps to:

The Surgeon General
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
200 Independence Avenue, SW.
Washington, DC 20201

Emails won't do it for this effort. You must send a letter. Please, let your voice be heard.
Send your own message or copy of this one and enclose it, but let it be known the stamp
is intended to help the Surgeon General get the word out. Let them know it matters. Let
them know you matter. Let them know you are doing your part.

The letter from the Surgeon general can be found on this website:
