Hi I am new to posting here but have lurked for support and answers reading others posts.I'm 45 days clean now from a 100 mg a day Lortab addiction. I'm having my lower teeth pulled this week and need to know that if I take any pain meds, will I go through withdrawl again.If this is the case I'll have to tuff it out.Any help with this question will certainlt help.Strength to all of you.

Welcome Cherokee. Just remember you are an addict. That is the hardest part and most confusing part to this disease. We can not act or expect to be like others who get there teeth pulled. They get the script. Take one when they get get home. Later if it hurts they take another one and maybe one before bed. They might do that for a few days, then there is a half full bottle of Hydro in their cabinet. That is how its suppose to happen, BUT it is not how it will happen for you or me. If you HAVE to have the meds and advil is not working then I would suggest keeping or asking for 10 pills and flushing the rest. Force yourself to be honest. Dont trust yourself, your an addict.

Meddguy, i appreciate your response.In my case throwing out meds is not a problem. Once I make up my mind to overcome something I've rarely had a problem following through.Drank like a fish for 35 years and four years ago I poured a fifth down the sink and have'nt looked back.My concern is only that I won't have to go through withdrawl again.That was enough to remind me each day that I don,t ever want to go there again. Strength to all!!!:)
