My husband has hep c & is currently taking the med. He has been feeling just awful since sept. when he started. We just found out that his afv levels were 53. The dr is doing an ultrasound tomorrow to check for cancer. Can anyone tell me if this is a serious threat. I didnt know until we got the recent blood work back that hep c can cause cancer. I am concerned because my husband says that he doesnt think he is going to survive hep c. The treatment has not worked. The dr doesnt think the meds are going to work. He is going to finish the six month program & then stop, because the side effects are so bad this time.

Even IF he does have liver cancer, all is not lost.
Check out radioablation therapy where they burn the tumours out. It must be done early in the disease, and it can make him eligible for a transplant (if this is indicated)
Has your husband had a biopsy?
I'm remembering you in my thoughts and prayers.
