I am 37 year old female. I was diagnosed almost a year ago with tachycardia. I do not know what type. I just went to the doctors(my regular pcp) due to high resting heart rate(140) intemittently, lightheadness like I have to sit or I am going to faint. I also Have cold sweats at times and often have chest pain in the center of my chest. I have gone to the er before and they have done an ekg. As a matter of fact I often have had chest pain and they have done ekg's and I always have an irregular ekg but they say it is normal for me, but I dont get this. How can they be irregular but normal for me. They do note that I am experiencing the tachycardia but dont tell me what I should do about this and my regular pcp didnt seem all that concerened the other day. I also have Hypothyroidism. I know your not doctors but does anyone have any advise on how I can fix this problem. I really dont know where to go from here exspecially seeming these episodes are happening more often. Please help I'd appreciate it

Do you think your doctor would refer you to a cardiologist?
That might be the best way to put your mind at ease or help you relieve the racing heart.
I, recently, have been experiencing pounding heart symptoms. My doctor is a big fan of running tests. She's very thorough (which is good I guess). Anyway, because she can't diagnose why this is happening, I've had an ECG and she sent me to a cardiologist to do a 24hour holter monitor and then I will have an echocardiagram tomorrow.
If you could have that done then maybe you would have a better understanding of what is happening with your heart. It's quite possible there is nothing physically wrong. But until you know for sure it will continue to worry you - and that doesn't help your heart rate.

Also, supplementing with magnesium seems to calm the heart muscle.
I've been using it, but don't have a good quality brand right now. I just bought some magnesium citrate which is better absorbed into the body than the magnesium oxide I currently taking.
That might help calm things down a bit too.

I have had a holter monitor done a year ago with a cardiologist and they diagnosed the tachycardia and about the ekg all he said was there is no such thing as a irregular ekg but normal for the individual

Heart rate still high. Resting is 120 and just standing is 140 to 148. I have had some mild chest pain and feel really warm. Should I go to the ER when this happens or call the doc? I just dont understand this. This morning when this happened my blood pressure was 138/99. Is this ok?
