I came across this site after daily online searches about vertigo. I'm astounded at the number and variation of cases posted on this site.
I've had vertigo for 7 months now, have seen a neurologist, 3 ENTs, 2 vestibular PT's, a Physiatrist, and my regular physician, had 2 MRI's (neck and brain) and more than 10 visits with PT....only to feel the same way I did 7 months ago.
The longer I go between PT visits, the better I am, but the kicker is, only as long as I don't move to my left side. If I do lay or hold my head to the left for awhile, I have a horrible, nystagmus-filled spin session which causes me to be completely unbalanced and suffering from triggers of spinning for weeks afterward.
Has anyone else had any luck figuring out what to do in the case that the crystals don't move and stay seemingly stuck, as if something isn't allowing them to move through the canal with PT manuevers?
I've had bouts of this in the past usually triggered by flying and plugging in my ears, but it always went away. Now, it's setting up camp and refusing to leave.
I've been through ENG and ECOG tests, eye tests, hearing, MRI's, ....so all the "bad stuff" has been weeded out. I'd appreciate shared experience stories or advice on how to finally rid this. (I have been on a diuretic for 3 weeks in the hopes that reducing fluid may aid in allowing the crystals to move through the canal).
I feel for everyone who has this in all it's forms, because it's very disabling, discouraging and can be depressing.
Thanks for any suggestions
