After having passed a 6mm calcium stone, my urologist said to leave the other 4 stones alone. Two are 4mm and two are 2mm. He said to just drink at least 2 liters of water a day. Is is safe to just leave these stones in the kidney? And is drinking so much water per day safe? Won't drinking so much put a strain on my kidneys? My EGFR (kidney function) score is 37, so that means my kidneys already have moderate damage.

Iheard if they are not blocking anything or moving yes to leave them along
maybe they will move out while they are small
they cant really do much about them inside the kidney that small
you do need to drink
some say home made real lemon aid helps with some types of stones

I normally drink at least 2 liters of water a day. There shouldn't be a problem with you doing that. My uro told me to have my stones re-checked in a year to make sure they had either passed or were not growing to a size where they couldn't be passed. So I guess as long as they are not moving, they are okay to stay where they are.
