Hi everyone,

I'm new and I was wondering if anyone has had neck pain or surgery and is still living with arm and hand pain. I am told I now have carpal tunnel which stems from the hand, but I was also told that it really stems from the neck area. Since having surgery, the pain is worse in the neck area and the swelling is bad. From side views, it looks as though my neck is disjointed. The pain goes down the arms and the arms go numb at night. The pain across the chest is unreal. I thought I was having a heart attack the first time it happened. Is any one else experiencing these kind of symptoms?

Thanks for the info..........

How long ago did you have your surgery?
Is your surgeon/doc aware of your symptoms and complaints?

If there is inflammation of the structures in the neck/discs, it could be an indication of cervical radiculopathy. Your treatment needs to be concentrated on relieving the pressure of your neck area to relieve the impingement of the nerve roots. BUt only your doctor may verify this.

You will need to follow up with your doctor regarding your symptoms.

My surgery was in 2004 and the doctors do know about my pain/swelling. It is really bad at night. It goes across my chest and down my arms with numbing feeling. You are correct in assuming about the swelling in my neck. If you look at me sideways, my neck looks broken. I have moved to a new state and the doctors here do not want to touch me. I have been passed around the circle. I had my surgery in Ohio and things went well except for the pain and now swelling. I met a doctor from California who says the he teaches a treatment that is supposed to get the swelling down. And that carpal tunnel really comes from the neck. This is over whelming. No one listens to me. They just want to keep me medicated. Any suggestions or thoughts on what to do at this stage?
