I was told I have reflux, not like the kind people usually have w/heartburn etc. It's caused by nerves & I notice if I get upet I can feel a coughing, choking feeling coming on in my throat. Has anyone heard of this just wondering how to treat it. Thought maybe a mild antidepressent would help. Thanks

Sounds like LPR. LPR is harder to treat than GERD. You can try ppis, like prilosec, nexium etc.

i have panic attacks and generalised anxiety disorder and lately i have been having trouble with my stomach. the doctor reckons its gallstones and i have been prescribed ranitidine (300mg) if you suffer from anxiety in general i'd advise a trip to your gp and have a chat with him about med's

Thanks, he just prescribled .25 Xanax as needed to sleep. The anxiety keeps me from going to sleep can't shut my mind off. I don't think that would help during the day though.

I too have panic attacks/GAD and stomach issues. I was just wondering what kind of tummy issues you are currently having. And if the ranitidine is actually working.

Thanks.

I too am having the same problems. I was wondering what exactly is going on with your stomach issues and if the ranitidine is actually working. Im having a hard time finding something that works.

Thanks. :)

ive only been taking the ranitidine for just over a week but yes, my stomach is feeling better - the quandry is though: is it feeling better because of the ranitidine OR have i convinced myself that "yes, he doctor said its gall stones and this medication will make me feel better" therefore easing my anxiety over what it could be, thus making the symptoms go away? bit confusing i know but at the end of the day, whether its the tablets or not, it has eased off greatly over the last week.

also, if you read my other posts, I have described my symptoms as "knot/churning in stomach" or like a constant adreneline surge-i dont know if this is a sign of gal stones but ive been referred for an ultrasound in a few weeks so i'll keep you posted
