Hi all!

My left wrist has been in pain for a while.

Now it is getting worse, and inhibiting what I can do. It now hurts when I play guitar or if I work out and have to push with the wrist bent.

It is very painful if I bend back the hand so the wrist is at a right angle and press on the palm of the hand as if doing push ups.

It is also painful when bending the wrist down or curling the palm/wrist as if cupping somrthing and applying pressure to the back of the hand.

I have already had ulnar entrapment surgery and I get tingling in my feet. I get orthotics tomorrow.
My neurologist thinks I am crazy because they can't find anything wrong with my feet based on EMG/NCV testing, so I don't want to see him.

I also read the tinel and phenol tests are not reliable in this case so should I just try conservative treatment of imobilizing the wrist for two weeks?

Thanks so much!

Hi again,

Could someone tell me the type of doctor to see if I suspect Carpel tunnel?
I was thinking of seeing this really good, local hand, wrist and arm specialist.

For now I am using an Ace wrist brace and not working out for a few weeks, limiting my typing and guitar playing.

My doctor says you cant have CT, without tingling in the fingers and numbness. I just have pain that started in the wrist...now the arm and the hand.:(

I am seeing a good local hand and wrist specialist this Friday. I will keep you updated about my appointment for suspected Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Sincerely, Tam
