Due to a neck condition, i have been taking 2 tabs of "Panadeine (acetaminophen 500mg/codeine 8mg) and 2 tabs of Nurofen Plus (ibuprofen 200mg/codeine 12.8mg) four or five times a day for quite some time.

I am not addicted to codeine, can stop without any withdrawl symptoms, but am concerned that analgesic rebound may be compounding my problems, and want to try stopping the pills.

Anyone used Celebrex 200mg twice a day as cover for withdrawl?

How logn after stopping will I see any improvement?

How long should i wait before deciding it isnt rebound, and go back to the meds that give me relief?

While you may not "be addicted" to codeine, your body may have developed a tolerance for codeine, there is a difference. You said you take over 100mg of codeine a day and have done so for quite sometime. I don't know that Celebrex contains the properties to help you wean off the codeine, ask your doctor about this.

ACTUALY 200MG CODEINE ;-)

I can substitute plain acetaminophen and ibuprofen for the codeine compounds without much trouble, have done that for a few days now, so any codeine issues should be done and dealth with.

thanks for the response!

These painkillers ate OTC.... I am sure the doc would be furious if i revealed my consumption to him!
