Hi There,
Hoping someone can advise me here....
My mom has been going through some episodes of "chest pain", starting in the evening. This happens on and off, and in the past we have had her heart checked. She does have alot of issues with her stomach, and I believe this is Reflux as when her "gas" is released by burping (sorry), then she experiences some relief. But it doesnt help at the time, because the pain is intense with it. I also am wondering if the stress and anxiety she is under could be causing this as well? Can stress, and upset cause your reflux to act up? If so, what is the best medication to take for it? I would also like to know if there's anything "natural" out there that could alleviate the pain, as my mom can barely tolerate most meds due to her stomach being so sensitive.
Would really appreciate some advice.
Thanks, Carsam

If you've been reading posts on this board then you know stress can be big factor for many people. Natural remidies have worked for some it seems kinda hit or miss personally they haven't worked for me. PPIs are probably the most prescribed meds for this problem and they do work for most people. Boards like this can kinda give you the idea that PPIs are ineffective because when they work people stop using forums like this and go on about living their lives.
