As of late, when I eat I can take a few bites, then I start hiccuping and next thing I know I am spitting up a clear mucousy substance....no food....just this cleary mucousy stuff. I find this happens mostly when I eat breads, pastas, etc. I can eat sald with no problesm. Same goes for dairy products, most vegies. Sometimes, no matter what I eat, I get the same reactions...then it suddenly all goes away and I can eat just about anything. I've had blood work done as well as a ultrasound.....nothing is wrong. The doctor wants to do an endoscopy but what's he going to find? I have no infections.....I don't have a sour stomach....just this weird reaction when I eat certain foods most of the time but I never know when it might happen. Any ideas out there.
Thank you,

Maybe you have LPR - a form of reflux.
Maybe you have a 'yeast' issues sometimes - Carbs and Dairy feed yeast making it much worse. Sometimes it clears up on its own (which could explain the times you feel fine). But without treatment and diet modification it keeps coming back.
Just a thought - as that is something that I am dealing with right now.
Giving up carbs/sugar is TOUGH!
Hope you find some relief soon.

Thanks for your reply.
I gave up sugar long time ago...not that bad really...just go off it for a month (and that means ALL sugars) then you won't want it anymore.
Not sure about the yeast allergy thing but I do think it has something to do with the type of food....though I can have the same reaction at times to anything I eat. Quite weird really as I do not fell sick to my stomach....just too much of that mucousy stuff when I eat certain things...and at times, ANYTHING.
But I do think it has more to do with an allergy or perhaps overactive gallbladder than anything like GERD or acid reflux.
Anyway...onward and upward.
