Hi all,
I was diagnosed with this when I saw my optometrist a week ago. I went in for a routine check up but had also had some eye flashes for a couple of weeks which I mentioned. She wanted me to go ahead and see an opthamologist which I did today but now he wants me to go to a specialist. He did nothing in the way of education and now all I know is what I can find on the internet!
I gather most of these are benign and should be watched but I have some concerns about mine that I would like to hear some personal experiences about if anyone has any:
1. mine is raised 1 mm-is that common?
2. The eye flashes-are they common in benign nevus or is it nevi or nevuses;)
Anyway, any of you that have benign ones do you have the eye flashes too?
I'm 44 if they may be due to age.
3. My paternal GM had an eye removed and subsequently died from metastis (this of course has me GREATLY concerned) this was about 50 years ago so of course there have been advances.
Anyone here have that kind of familial history or can comment on it?
