View Full Version : Question about aspirin

Hi, I am new here and I do not have a blood disorder but my question does kind of have to do with blood... I just wasn't sure what category my question would fall under. Anyway, I recently found out that I have Raynaud's Disease. (Basically, I have horrible circulation in my toes, too the point where they turn purple and begin to dry up and scab over...) My doctor suggested I try taking a baby aspirin a day and see if that helps. The aspirin is suppose to thin my blood. I've been taking an aspirin a day and it's really been helping. But I'm afraid that the aspirin could have some sort of long-term affect on me... I'm 17 and I don't want to get Reye's Syndrome. Isn't that typically a children's disease though? Any reply would be helpful

In this case I would say your doctor knows best.
