I am back on Keppra and my knees mostly just hurt! Anyone else have leg pain with Keppra?

JDgirl, yes Im also on keppra and especially during the beginning my knees hurted and angles. With time neuro said they would get better, and it has.. I hope you can adjust as well, but if it persist contact your neuro.

OMG my knees and ankles as well! Thank you for the reply. I have been on Keppra for quite sometime but just recently had my dosage up'ed.

I came to this message board about the anger/agitation i'm experiencing on Keppra..found this thread and now I understand why my knee started hurting for no apparent reason.... Now i have something else to be angry about!

I too, had severe aggitation...to the point of gettinng irrational! I've lowered the doseage and all is back to normal.

I'm also getting quite irrational on the keppra. In the experience of others on this board, does lowering the keppra dosage usually help or is it sometimes necessary to go off/switch medications? Thanks.

yes indeed keppra can cause leg pain. it seems to be common yet it does not seem to be commonly documented. in my case it seems (what i can recall anyway) that i didn't have the pain initially yet after several years of use it began to increase for no known reason.

the pain in my legs began to diminish when i lowered the dose from 3000mg to 1000mg slowly over a one year period . now I still feel some tightness but it is much more bearable. i hope to dump keppra altogether since it really has not helped me out anyway and costs way too much.
