I have been seeing Dr after Dr for over a year now due to chronic abdominal pain. I have had numerous xrays done and all come back normal. Finally I saw a doctor last week who thinks I may have Celiac Disease.

I have recurring abdominal pain, severe acid reflux, constipation and/or diarrhea, fatigue, dizziness, bloating, and shortness of breath.

My test results have come in and my IgG level is <3 unit/mL and IgA level is <3 unit/ML. Can someone tell me if these are normal or if they indicate possible celiac disease?

sarahs7981,

I don't know how to read the numbers, but your symptoms could indeed be from celiac disease or gluten sensitivity/intolerance.

I had severe acid indigestion that was so painful that I couldn't sleep. My tests came back negative, but I had already been on a gluten-free diet for several months before I could find a doctor who would consider giving me the tests. But a gluten-free diet has helped me tremendously. I am sensitive enough that even small amounts can give me mild symptoms and make me over-sensitive to lots of things.

Regardless of how your test come out, you might find that a gluten-free diet will help. It might take a few months for all the symptoms to subside. Your problems could also come from other food sensititivies, and perhaps an elimination diet might help to find out what you are sensitive to.
