well i got my expander feb 12th..my orthodontist said i may need surgery because of my age and the bone having already been set in place..well 3 weeks ago, i got a gap in between my 2 front teeth..it wasnt huge but enough i could put floss between them and have plenty of room to wiggle the floss around..well my gap just disappeared and now my teeth are right smack beside each other again, no gap..is this normal? ive read your space could close once you have stopped turning the screw but ive only turned it 22 times and i have to turn it 60 all together so i wasnt sure if this was normal or not...i just really dont want to have to get the surgery and he said i wouldnt need it when he saw the gap but now im really not sure? has this happened to anyone else??

That is pretty normal. I think you aren't seeing where the gaps still remain around your mouth.

I had mine in high school, and never hated anything that much in my life.
