Hello All,
I'm new here. I'm a 25 year old female and have been diagnosed with PAC's. I don't have them often, but I mostly notice them right before I menstruate. It's pretty much for the 3-4 days before and the first and second day of my period. Are PAC's affected by hormone levels? Does anyone else have this too? I know they are harmless, but they're still annoying and really scary! Also, is this what it will be like the whole time I am pregnant some day? Thanks for any input!

It is extremely common for women to notice an increase in palpitations and arrhythmias during the luteal (premenstrual) phase of their cycle.

Dear Katiekal, I first noticed an increase of palpitations around 25 years old too. Mine are very much affected by my menstrual cycle. I always have bad episodes around my period, but also when I ovulate. I believe it is the increase and decrease of hormones throughout the cycle. I know what you mean about them being so scary. They are at times tortuous. I am now 44 years old and have been assured many times that it is not dangerous by my doctors. While it isn't dangerous, it feel so bad, so scary. I know exactly how you feel. I still get panicky when it happens, although it is better after having had it for so long. My PAC's were no worse during my pregnancies. The one thing I did that helped me most of all was eliminating aspartame ~ no diet drinks, no gum. Nothing with aspartame. I also take magnesium which seems to help. I'll be praying for you.
