Hi guys.

I've recently had a bad spate of illness, Had a virus and an outbreak of excema and then a cold which put me in hospital (the asthma attack, not the actual cold), got oral candida ( i thought may have been caused by the antibiotics they gave me) lost weight, cold sores (I was on prednesone in hospital) diarrhea, trembles and shakes, mailaise, felt depressed. I was worried about my health and started to feel really anxious about every thing - I read about night sweats as a symptom of hiv. then started sweating profusely!!!!

I went to my GP and she did a whole lot of tests - but HIV wasnt one of them - diabetes, kidney and liver function FBC all normal and clear. ( its also funny how much better i feel now that I know I dont have diabetes)

I still feel unwell though and I have lost a bit of weight, I'm not so much worried about testing positive. More worried about if I do test poisitve +,I left it to late waiting for these "symptoms" to occur.

Can I still make progressive changes to prolong my life and contribute to my society and world a little longer.

All input welcome

first off, stop with the what ifs or the do i???
the only way to get your answer is by getting tested for hiv.
then take the approprite action from there, its never too late to get treated and if you do have it the faster you get treated the better off you are.
good luck and worry after the test, not before because it all could be over nothing

Well dear I am sorry to hear about your results. It is not the end of the world.I know all of this is hard to listen to right now.
My advice is to go to the doctor as soon as possible and get some medical help. Your health will be back in no time and you will live many more happy years.
Good luck.

Hi Zo3ar.

Sorry for what is happening to you.

Your next step is to find a HIV/AIDS support group. That should not be too difficult in a city like Auckland. Then, find a doctor and get a health checkup.

Also, I suppose they took your blood for the confirmation test. Go pick up the results.

You do not need to get depressed now. You will need to take a lot of medication, but will live a normal lifespan provided you have a good doctor and take good care of yourself.

Hope this helps.

was this just on a rapid test? the next step would be a follow up blood test
to confirm.
if its confirmed then you are on the way to meds.
to me there is nothing to be sorry about,it happens.. yea its a big shock.. it will wear off. now is a time to start thinkin heatlhy, quit the bad habbits or cut them back and start being aware and take care of your self.

a word of advice, if you do have it, be very careful who you tell...
as once you do that, you cannot take it back and you will see that the people you do tell will alot of them look at you or treat you differently then they did before.

Why has people responded like he really tested positive?

he made this post less than 4 hours after the one saying the rapid test was going to be the following day.

He has not been tested HIV+

Also do you really think you would post a casual response after testing positive and say ''told family and loves ones, whats next?''
