I went for my usual eye exam in January. I got my new rx for glasses and contacts. All is good. My left eye got red and mildly itchy no gunk and never crusted over on 3/19. It stayed red only in the corner for 10 days. I finally went to the dr but saw his nurse practitioner. He put drops and used a black light to look in my eye. I was told that I had a bacterial infection and could loose my eye sight if it was not treated, also if it did not improve in the next 24 hours to call and get a referral to a specialist. I was given Vigamox to use every 2 hours then every 4. I called and was told they would get me the appointment on Monday the optamologist were closed for the weekend. I went to see the opthamologist today and was told that I did NOT have a bacterial infection but pink eye and the reason my vision is blurry in my left eye is the rx is wrong. How could it change that much in a month. When I asked they said my contacts are reshaping my eye and to get a correct eye exam don't take your contacts out just before getting them checked. Has anyone heard of this. I am just a little mad that my new glasses are the wrong rx. I would go back to my optometrist but he moved to another city. I had been seeing him for 5 years without a problem. Just frustrated.
