Hi: I was just recently diagnosed with B-12 deficiency. I have neuropathy which is mostly dominant on my whole left side, but is now appearing on my right side as well. I have burning tongue/mouth, imbalance, fatigue, twitching muscles at night, burning, and tremendous heat radiating from my muscles several times a day. This deficiency came about (I think), from taking acid reflux meds which (may) have blocked my B-12 from being absorbed in my body. I cannot work. I fear the unknown. My doctor is a good doctor, and (thinks) it is B-12 deficiency. But is sending me to a Neurologist tomorrow for a second opinion. I found alot on-line about this, but have not found any outcome of any one's experience, if anyone afflicted with this has completely come back. My left arm is very weak and uncontrolled shake. My doc does not think it is MS.
Has anyone been through this? My doc said it will take as long as 5 months before I could see a change for the better. I'm still in shock to say the least that such a devastating illness can come from being deficient from vitamins.
If this B-12 deficiency came about from acid inhibitors, with millions of people being prescribed this med, why isn't this terrible disorder more known? I am receiving B-12 shots from my doc, am taking Nerve Repair Formula for my neuropathy, daily intake of B-12 sub-lingually, other vitamins that I'm also deficient in, have a great support of prayers from friends, but had to do almost all my own research. I still don't know my future, but will keep posting if there is anyone who could benefit from what I learn - or if I could receive any info from anyone who has been through this. Please - anything is something. Thank you.
