My brother's birthday is today..He had DMD and passed away 25 yrs ago..I was 8 yrs old then,(im now almost 33) but I still remember and miss him..My mother is having a bad day, I spoke with her earlier but nothing I could ever say or do will ease her pain..

My mother is a carrier and I am a carrier..I had to go through all the genentic testing while I was pregnant(2x males had DMD, and a couple miscarriages in between) but after those times we were blessed with a girl, who is also a carrier..She is my only child..

I fear for her..I have not kept up with any medical advances with this horrible disease..Will she have to go through what my mother did? Go through genentic testing like I did? How can she understand having a child with DMD if she never saw it first hand?
