Hi

When I was at the ENT the consultant asked me if my dizziness was internal i.e. inside my head or if the world was spinning. Does anyone know what difference this would make to a diagnosis?

I have been told that dizzy doctors talk in terms of 'objective' and 'subjective' vertigo. With subjective, the person feels that they are spinning, with objective its the world spinning. I don't know if it means anything in diagnosis terms or if it is just how the individual perceives it.

That's a really good question. I don't think it matters to be honest ... everyone experiences this stuff differently. I can't imagine how that would be diagnostic in any way.

Hi. Yes there is internal dizziness and external dizziness I am learning through my vestibular therapist. Internal is when you ahve the sensation of spinning. External is when you are actually SEEING objects spinning.

I have been seeing a vestibular therapist for about 2 weeks due to be diagnosed with BPPV to ehich my therapist tells me I dont have. He tells me what the problem is is a Vestibular Weakness that must be strengthened thru therapy. I have been suffering for 2 years on and off with dizziness, imbalance, nauseaousness, ringing int he ears, full feeling in ears..
trying to get an answer. It seems after the close of the 2nd week of therapy I am finding some relief. It is a processs though.
