I was so scared of having this done I almost didn't go to the appointment. I have been anxious ever since the Dr. told me I should have it done.I have moderate dysplasia & have been having abnormal paps since I was a teenager. I have had about 3 colps done. I wanted to be out of it but that wasn't an option where I go. Well it was not bad! I did take a Xanax & a Vicodin before the appt. I didn't feel the injections, the Dr. told me I might feel burning but it was not painful. If anything at all I felt a little pressure at the end but not painful at all & i've been feeling good all day. I think i'm just so glad to have this over with. I hope everyone else has a positive experience with leep. I was so stressed out about my procedure, now i'm just praying for good results.

I'm so glad the appointment went well for you. Sometimes our mind makes up things that are worse than the reality. (I know this from personal experience! ) When do you expect results?

Hi, well done for having the loop and good luck for your results. I had loop done on 19th March, most definitely Not a nice experience, and my second loop ( last on 1994). My results were good, but i'm going to keep on top of this as our system would allow us to go 3 years between pap tests once we've had several clear ones, but both my loops have resulted in changes taking place in the cells within 12 months. I had CIN3 and just had CIN2. Good luck and this message board has been great for me, I hope it will help you too.

Hi, I'm new here..
I'm actually scheduled for a LEEP on May 1st. My doctor told me that I have a CIN II/III, low and high grade lesions. I found this out on my birthday which was yesterday. I just turned 20 years old and have been in a Monogamous relationship for 1 year now and am completely devestated by this since always playing by the rules and keeping it safe does not matter in this case. I mean, I'm the type of woman who has protected sex while still being on the birth control pill. I am scheduled to take Gardasil this Monday, the 14th, to prevent any other forms of HPV to show its ugly face.
My point is I am absolutely mortified. I read up so much information regarding LEEPS and HPV and Gardasil long term side effects and it terrifies me. I already had a colpo, and was severely allergic to the Monsel's Solution my doctor inserted. That was so painful to deal with! The biopsy didn't even hurt, the allergic reaction inflamed my cervic practically sealing it shut!
Anyway, I am going to receive general anesthesia, which I've never done before. My mother has had a cone biopsy in the past for high risk dysplasia, but knowing that a generator will be inserted and that there is a vacuum noise while this happens, I just feel like I'm going to be experimented on!
I am so scared and my boyfriend has been there for it all. I just wish this wasn't happening to me... Than again, so does everyone else...
Thank you for listening..
