View Full Version : ? WHAT ARE THE REAL SVR NUMBERS FOR GENO TYPE 1A ?

Does anyone know where I can get the real numbers that show what the SVR is for geno type 1a after treatment.
What percentage of geno type 1a actually stay virus free verses having the hep c come back.
I am under the impression that when you talk about real numbers of people who are virus free a year or more after treatment you are only talking about maybe 20% or so does this sound right?
I know they like to tout that 50-60% SVR but I don't see that really being the truth at least not with geno type 1a.
What I am looking for is some articles I can give my gastro to back up that the sustained clearance after treatment is not that good & I need some articles that have some credibility.
Thanks in advance.

Try a search for "Genotypes of hepatitis C". genotype html This page has been up-date to show the percentages for the different Combo Tx. The only question of information, is what is the bases for being a part of these phase trials. Is it a cross study of people or just people who meet the need? I ran a search for my Genotype 3e and it seems to post information on percentages for All types. Trying to run a search for genotype 1 might get to many hits. Most the information gathered to this point seems to be clinical trials because it is a new study of new treatments. Pegasys seems to be in about year 4.
