hi I am really desperate for any help no matter how little if anyone could even just make me feel a tiny glimmer of hope please reply. im a 30y old mum of 3 and have been feeling really scared now for 4 months the reason for this is i went from being totally fine one day to having a lot of strange symptoms the next. Have i seen my GP? yes 3 different ones. Let me list my symptoms:
1. feeling of lump or mucus stuck in throat(every day)
2. strange taste in throat
3. when i scrape my tongue same taste.(awafal)
4.can get anything out of throat
5.full or pressure feeling in ears
Sorry i know they seem weird. lol.First doc said it was catarrah -use steam- didnt make any differance.Then it was reflux given nexium 40mg daily - no change. then sinus infection antibiotics for 7 days felt a little better but gone back since finishing course. Next it was stress - dont think about it and drink lots of water. Ok so I also do nasal rince every day which makes me feel a little better but not for long. I have had 3 rounds of bloods all normal, sputum sample also normal and seen an ent (private) who suggested the nasal rinse as he could not see anything with throat, that was 5 weeks ago he said i could go and see him again if i was still concerned but i cant afford another appointment. I really feel as if i have hit a brick wall i just want to feel like me again and be able to laugh and run after my kids. Can anyone help Please?

I don't know about where you live, but in our area it's spring and pollen season and that means drainage and junk in your throat and phlem and crap, Lots of sinus stuff and such. Have you tried and OTC antihistamine for 24/7 for say 2 weeks to see if it makes a difference? IF it works, then I would think that it is related to the time of the year and the pollens that are out. That would be what would first come to mind for our family.....

I would suggest another round of antibiotics. My husband always seems to need at least a month to clear up the tubes that drain that terrible tasting infection stuff. (two two week courses of Bactrim should do it..or whatever sulfa drug they use there)

hi thanks so much for replying i really am at my wits end with this.lol. I live in the UK and have never had anything like this before. Yes have tried antihistimines but didnt see any change although am trying nasal sray now day1. Ireally am at a loss. I dont actually get rid of anything much from my throat. Feels like theres no end

I have the same symptoms. I tried everything. I had a virus last feb2007 and eversince then can't get rid of this mucosy stuff. When I go to bed its like I can't swallow my own saliva and have yukky stuff I have to wipe into a tissue all night. Sometimes its sort of infected and sometimes its clear lumpy stuff, sometimes like clear jelly and sometimes frothy string saliva. I make this noise in my throat and I read it might be stress!!!! They said that to my brother who had coughed bits of blood up as well and not long after he died at work. Is there anywonder we don't trust the medical proffession! I don't like going to doctors with this so continue to carry on buying. the chemist said it could be an allergy and gave be eye drops to squeeze up my nose!! she said it would work. My Mother in laws the same but she spends a fortune at the herbalist.

up date ...new symptom. Dont know if its connected with all the rest but now have small lump below left ear not painfull but strange feeling also along jaw bone. does anyone think these are all connected to the same things?
