if you have HPV can you ever have a normal pap?

yes, i always had normal paps. but hpv tested positve for high risk .

thank you for that. i was just wondering because im trying to get into the navy and they wont let me in unless i have a normal pap, so i scheduled one in a week or so, and i have to pay out of pocket for it because i dont have insurance and was just looking for answers so i didnt waste money i dont really have if it was just going to come back abnormal again...

Hello. For 7 yrs I've had normal paps. My last pap was last week and it is normal but an HPV test was done this time and it came out positive. My doctor and other doctors I've talked to said it will probably go away and to just to come back for another pap in a year versus 2yrs. They said most likely the HPV virus will go away. I can't help but be concerned. Any feedback from anyone???

I tested positive for HPV about 16 years ago and have never had an abnormal pap since then... and I have gotten them yearly (because the Army requires it that way).
Hopefully you'll get your pap and you'll be fine.

I did, yes, and I really can't remember how long it took... I'm sorry.
