I was on Topamax for about a year and a half but just stopped because I was tired of the vision changes and break through bleeding. My doctor told me to try Zonegran and said that it's like Topamax but people tend to tolerate it better. Anyway I haven't started it yet because I am scared. I have never taken a sulfa drug and therefore, I don't know if I'm allergic or not. I've been reading a lot about Stevens Johnson Syndrome and it scared me.

I'm not allergic to any other drugs that I know of and only get seasonal allergies, so I don't know if it makes a difference.

Has anyone taken Zonegran? How have you tolerated it? Thanks so much for your help!

I am on Zonegran 50 Mg's for migraines. I used to take Topamax and I hated it. The worst part of it was that the Topamax was making my hair fall out! I was switched to Zonegran and it is working great. No problems so far. And even though I AM allergic to Sulpha I can still tollerate the Zonegran. I think it is a great change from that horrible Topamax. Hope you try it and it works as good for you as it has for me so far... :)
