Doing better, and had my vaginal sonogram. Tech really couldn't tell me anything except that I have a tiny sac in my uterus. So I guess if there is a sac in my uterus its not etopic :)
My drs office will call tomorrow or monday to confirm this.

As it should be. Techs of all sorts, whether they be radiology, mammograms or ultrasounds are NOT qualified in any way whatsoever to read the images and shouldn't say anything about what they're seeing. Doesn't matter how long they've been doing it, they haven't been trained to read them.
Best of luck with the pregnancy!

She put me on flexeril, but it doesnt do a thing for my fibro! She gave me prozac too .. just to help with the withdrawls of the other meds.......I took it for a few days but now I'm no longer using them.
She is going to take things as they come. I've been off the vicoden and the others now for about a week and starting to just now feel better. Im having some anxiety when I wake up, and Im feeling off balance. My fibro is really HURTING! But Im taking one day at a time.

Good morning everyone :)
The OBGYN nurse called yesterday, she said the baby is in the uterus :) I have to have another sonogram because they detected a heartbeat and it was only 79 beats. She did say not to worry because at 5 weeks they shouldn't have even detected a heartbeat! She said that is probably the reason the heart is beating so slow! So I go back this coming monday :)
I think Im mostly over all the withdrawls........I stopped the prozac and flexeril, neither of them were doing anything for me .... so no reason to take them.
My shoulders, back , and legs are burning and hurting BUT Im grinning and bearing it the best I can!
Hope

Hopw4all, what would you still be withdrawing from? I don't think you would have more pain from the withdrawals out of the blue. I think it might be a flareup from the fibro. Is your pain worse than the pain you had when stopping the meds?
I am sorry you are feeling so terrible. What are you doing for yourself to help with the pain? What meds did your ob/gyn allow you to take?
Please keep posting, as we will be worrying about you. I am thinking of you and giving you all the credit in the world, Good job!

Good morning sweetie, Im glad you had a good result on the sono but i sure am sorry your hurting. Even though you thought the flexeril and prozac wasnt working maybe you shouldnt have stopped it yet. If they gave it to you and didnt think it was hurting the baby, you probably shouldnt have just stopped cold like that. Prozac doesnt always work for everyone but maybe you should have given it a bit more time. Also, maybe you should have stayed on it until you called the doctors office and see what they suggested. You are probably putting your body through too much at one time but i understand you may be afraid for your baby. Have you mentioned the Tylenol-3's ? For the bad days. Perhaps you could mention that a few friends that were pregnant asked you to mention it to the doctor because they had the same condition you had while pregnant if you feel nervous. I dont know luv i just hate the fact that your hurting. Well sweetie take it easy for now and try and have a good day.........

Im going out today and having blood drawn as a part of my prenatal care :)
I wasn't on the prozac for more than 5 days, so I doubt Id withdrawl from that. I did take a flexeril last night, all that seems to do is allow me to sleep comftorably.
What is really strange is when I wake up I feel FINE!!!!!!!! Then as I rise out of bed I get such bad anxiety that it feels like my heart is gonna leap out of my chest. I have no Idea why, Im not anxious about anything when I wake up. Then about a half hour later I can feel different parts of my body starting to hurt. After a few hours of being awake my whole entire body is engulfed in PAIN!
Im really beginning to wonder if maybe the anxiety starts this downward spiral of pain! With my fibro pain, I have a tough time getting out of bed.....thats why this is soooooooo different :(

you bet your emotional state affects your body. it is how fibro works. sweet girlfriend you are pregnant. your other kids are older. were they born before you had fibro? thinking maybe that is so. anyway, being preggers, being 40, having fibro, of course you are going to be in more pain. well, maybe not more, just totally aware of it cause you are cleaning your system out.
withdrawal is over. be cool with that and pat yourself on the back. i am patting you and giving you a big hug.
when it hurts so bad you question your sanity just remember, there is a human within you, growing, becomming. sing to your baby and maybe it will relax both of you. never forget every emotion you feel baby feels too. protect both of you. come to my mountain and we can rub your tummy and listen to the quiet soft sounds of nature.
peace,
bluelakelady
hi baby!! grow strong and healthy. nana blue loves you.

Take it easy Hope. Bluelakelady is right but if your having too much of a tough time on your own, perhaps you should call the Doctors office and let them know whats going on. Anxiety is not good but we all get it at times, perhaps if you cant mentally get to Bluelakeladys mountain and be calm, ask for help, thats why you pay the doctor. Sometimes prozac doesnt work for some, it didnt help me. The only think that helped me was zoloft. Everyone is different, i felt horrible on prozac where it works wonderful for my cousin and zoloft doesnt agree with her, go figure, our D.N.A. is somewhat similar, our moms are sisters. But my point is, talk to the professionals and see what they think. You may be just working yourself into a frenzy right now and the prozac is doing its job. They must have had a reason for putting you on it and i believe your withdrawals are done also and dont think your having withdrawals from the prozac but your body may still need the serotonin because the doctor recognized your anxiety. But ask the question ? Do you think i should be on a mood stabilizer or am i better off without it ? My sister in law just had her last child at age 41 and it wasnt easy on her, so dont be hard on yourself but please honey, stay in close contact with your doctor and please do as they think may be best for you. I think your doing too much on your own, you do have a serious medical problem and now your pregnant. I think the anxiety has a big part of it also. If you can stay in bed longer than do so til your ready to get up, put the radio on or whatever morning t.v. show you like. Perhaps the sound of the birds relax you in the morning, open the window. Find whatever takes you to that peaceful place and try not to worry so much. Those few times im having an anxiety attack, i start telling myself, relax, breath. My hearts going crazy and i start losing my breath, im holding my chest and its making me worse, i catch myself and start calming myself. I'm worried about you sweetie, dont take so much on your own, ask for the help and let us know how your feeling later on today please

Best of luck with the pregnancy!
Actually, they have been trained to read them. Sonographers go through a very extensive training for a couple of years after already having a radiology background or an allied health degree. They have to carry their own insurance as they are responsible for alerting the physicians they work for of any particular problems they noted during the exam. They can be sued for missing critical problems. The treating physician is the only one allowed to discuss the results of the exam with the patient because he/she is the only one who is licensed and trained to carry out any further medical treatment or advice. And, of course, the doctor is specialized in how to determine the severity of conditions where a sonographer is not.
Sorry to police this comment. Just thought someone might appreciate this FYI.

Hopefully my previous post is not offensive as I'm sure it's not helpful to the lady that started this thread. I'd like to add a note of encouragement for the pregnancy. You can have symptoms of withdrawal from the Prozac even if you only took for about a week. It took me a week of Paxil to learn I was allergic to it and it took several days to recover from the withdrawal affects. These meds actually work with your brain chemistry and even a few days of taking them can cause some people symptoms after stopping. Some doctors will tell you you can't have withdrawals after only a few days and some will. The thing is that you know your body and everybody reacts differently. You just need to try and relax and not anticipate the feelings every day...it should not take long to get over the meds.
On another note, some people do respond with anxiety from the hormones of pregnancy. My sister does not do well pregnant at all. She turns into a mess of anxiety and mood swings. Every pregnancy for her (3 of them) had it's own set of issues. This last one was pretty tough on her, but she made it through and has a beautiful 6 month old baby girl. I suffer from anxiety as well and the one thing that helped me the most was realizing that the anxiety and the feelings weren't going to hurt me. It's not fun trying to pace yourself through a racing heart or an attack where you can't breath or fear you may pass out. When you get these feelings, as long as there is not a medical reason for them, try to gain control over you mind and try as hard as you can not to be scared. Eventually you can learn how to deal with these attacks quickly, but it takes alot of active and sometimes tiresome mind thinking. Try to be easy on yourself because hormones can wreak havoc on how you feel. Hopefully once you get further along in your pregnancy things will even out and you will be feeling much better. In the meantime, try singing like someone else already suggested. Pick a song you really like and sing it several times. That's is a great technique and can really get you through those moments of anxiety by redirecting your thoughts.
Hope you're feeling better soon and congratulations on the baby.

Hope4All have you tried water aerobics? My mom had my sister when she was 36 with fibro and she did a lot of water aerobics to help her muscles. I also remember her taking a lot of baths. I hope each day is better than the last for you and your baby. God bless!

I talked to my obgyn nurse and she talked to my gyne........she said if on Monday if the baby is ok then I should see a "Pain management Dr"!
She said that the prozac and flexeril is all she can give me.
As the day wore on the pain increased and I'm trying not to cry :(
I feel so bad for my kids and hubby.........they are being so AWESOME thru all of this!!!!! Im beyond blessed with my family.
I did ask about tylenol 3 and she said she doesn't prescribe that!
As for the bath question...........I take MANY! Plus showers. If Im not sleeping or eating then Im soaking!

Hope4All...
I just finished reading this thread and first off I would like to say congratulations on your pregnancy! Also, please know that we are all here for you when you need someone to talk to.
Sweetjerseygirl mentioned zoloft in an earlier post. I have been on zoloft for over 5 years and it truly does work, for me at least. When I was first diagnosed with fibro (just recently), I was really down in the dumps because it had taken its toll on me waiting so long to get a diagnosis, and not knowing what was wrong with me. My doc increased the zoloft and I felt a million times better. I also have anxiety and it helps tremendously with that.
My best friend just had a baby and she is probably the most anxious person I know, the doc prescribed her zoloft and it has worked for her. Since it is safe for you to take while pregnant, it may be something you want to at least think about.
Here is to having a healthy pregnancy with lots of help and encouragement along the way! We are thinking about you.
