I have strabismus which created a lazy eye meaning one eye is weaker and I suppress it. Recently I have been training the supressed eye and I am using it more often as I've noticed for cosmetic reasons it looks more normal that way. I have noticed it getting stronger and finding it easier to focus with both eyes together, but when I try to focus closely on a pencil of finger I always have double vision. I went to an opthamolgist about 2 years ago and he injected botox into my eye to try and straighten it which it do so, but after a while I gave up and stopped seeing him. When I was seeing him I had double vision when I was focusing on the pencil, but not as much as this. I seem to be able to focus better on it when the pencil is further away than when it's closer to my eyes. Hopefully this makes sense, because I'm a little worried why it might be getting worse but is that just because I'm making my eye stronger?

How have you bee training your lazy eye. I'm interested to know. I have a lazy eye, but not strabimus, but I have a bad sinus infection that has caused problems with my Good eye and I need something to kick the lazy one into working again.

Well I'm able to switch my focus between eyes so I just focus on things with the lazy eye as much as possible even though it doesn't have as good vision.

I also have a lazy eye. But I had surgery when I was small that corrected the muscles. Although as I've gotten older my eye wants to turn some. I've always had double vision with it. But I've noticed that if I'm not thinking about it I don't really notice it. But there are times that I start to notice it and see it all the time. Once they were going to have to maybe re-do the surgery and the doc told me to do some exercises by focusing on my finger up close to my face and then bringing it out. More or less making your eyes go crossed. You can really feel it working.
I have a question..How bad is your vision in that eye? I've got what I would call static vision in that eye. It's so weird because I try to explain to people that I can see out of that eye but not really. I see stuff but there's no way to focus on it or anything. Just wondering how yours is. I've never talked to anyone else that has the same condition.
