I used to wear hard contacts before having lasik 4 yrs. ago. I was told my close up vision would weaken quicker due to my age. I am now 49. My close vision has not changed. However, my distant vision has weakened and now I am wearing glasses. I hate glasses!! I have to remove the glasses to see things close up.
The dr. suggested trying mono vision contacts. If you have these could you let me know if they were hard to adjust to? Thanks!

I fully understand that wearing glasses is a big step - especially for a woman. However, they are probably the best solution for your particular problem. A monovision contact solution in your case would mean wearing a distance correction lens in one eye (the dominant eye) and nothing in the other eye. That would take a lot of getting used to, especially if the two eyes are balanced.
An alternative would be bifocal or progressive glasses with distance correction in the top part and no correction in the lower part.
