Hello Everyone. Just wanted to see if anyone could maybe explain something to me. I went to the ER in Feb with lower abdominal pain and after x-rays and ct scan they said I had a mass on my right ovary. I went the next day to Gyn who orderd an ultrasound the very next morning. The results were sent directly to him via e-mail. He then showed me the ultrasound pictures and said that I have a cyst and he wanted to go ahead and remove it. He did not tell me what kind of cyst it is but you can definetly see in the middle is a few cluster that he sstates he was alittle concerned about. Sent me for CA-125 which came back at 11.5. And the measurements for the cyst are as follows: 12cm x 5cm x 11.5cm. I also have fibroids on utrus. I am scheduled for surgery on April 23. We are scheduling a Laparoscopy withe removal of Adnexxal structures or possibly a laparotomy. My question is what kind of cyst might I have and as far as the size is what could I compare it to???apple, softball etc. Thank for any info you might be able to give me and sorry post is so long.

mamat-
I do not have an answer for you  Sometimes they do not know until they actually do the lap and look inside. I have heard all different sizes...my step mom had one the size of an orange. I do not remember the type of cyst.

I had a lap done for endometriosis...is was not that bad. Just depending what they find.

I wish you the best!

You could call the Dr and ask, then research on the net?

Reyne, Thank you for your response. I too have had prior surgery for Endo, I have also had 2-c sections, tubal surgery to unblock my tubes and clean out scar tissue and appendectomy. I am pretty sure there is plenty of scar tissue in there also because of the prior surgery. I did ask the nurse what she could compare it to as far as the size and she really did not have any idea. Maybe I will call back and see if it states on my recors what kindof cyst it may be. Once again thank you.
