I have having problems lately and was wondering if it Addison. My sodium levels have always been low (I never know why) but so is my potassium. I have not been tested for Addison however I am going to ask my dr. to test. My question is does your potassium level always have to be high? Any opinions?
Thanks

The doctors will say yes if they are inexperienced. Myself and several friends have experienced low potassium during a crisis whereas a normal situation would be low sodium, high potassium. Same goes with blood pressure, most go low but some do go high.
Ironically, since my potassium dropped, I have to take even more sodium.
They need to look at the totallity of it all and not be put off by one test.
Also, it could be a separate, unrelated problem - such as a medication side effect.
