My wife has MDS for 3 years. Her bone marrow is not reproducing her red, white blood cells nor her platelets. She has to get blood transfussions. Due to the blood transfussion she has an overload of iron. But the reason I am replying to you is in the beginning she could only go about 4 weeks and she needed a blood transfussion. About a year ago a friend of ours had cancer and he found a natural remedy on the internet that was Japaneese mushrooms. The remedy is called "Immpower" . Her immune system started getting stronger and April the 11, 2008 it has been 6 months since she has had a transfussion and her hemoglobin has not been lower than 8. Maybe this will help you........good luck
