Hi everyone. My son is almost 8 months old. He half sleeps in his playpen and half co-sleeps. (I will put him in the playpen for most of the night now but when he wakes to eat around 5/6am I bring him beside me) Anyways that's not the issue. Tonight he rolled over and was sleeping on his tummy. Should I roll him back over? Thanks, Sherri :)

i wouldn't worry about him sleeping on his belly at that age. check with your ped. to be on the safe side.

My daughter started sleeping on her belly around 6 months or so and I worried about it at first. I then realized that she could pick up her head and roll back as well - not to mention that no matter how many times I put her on her back, she rolled right back to her belly. The doctor told me that at that point I shouldn't worry - especially if you can't control it. :)

Once they start rolling over on their own, it's totally fine! I know it's strange at first to find them that way, but there's really not much you can do it about it unless you sit there all night long and watch. At 8 months, though, I wouldn't give it a second thought. Most parents find that their babies start to sleep much longer on their bellies!
