Hi everyone,
I suffer from mild acne and was told to take evening primrose oil...so I took it for a few weeks, it made my skin way way worse and then my boobs grew?!! I stopped taking it and now I have a painful, tender breast which is harder than my right breast.
When looking up evening primrose oil, it says it meant to clear acne and stop sore breasts but it seems like the complete opposite has happened!
My last period was March 17th and I have had sore breasts for nearly two weeks.
I took a pregnancy test and that was negative.
I do play softball and I am the catcher and a couple of times the ball has hit that breast but not very hard.
I wanted to give it until after my next period to see if it gets any better but any ideas what it could be? And if I were to see a doctor, do I see a normal doctor or obgyn? I would guess obgyn but usually to see any obgyn in my town you have to wait like 6 months!
Any info would be great, thanks!

Hello...
I don't have much help for you but I am also taking evening primrose oil (1300mg 1x daily) under the guidance of my naturopathic doctor. However, it has cleared my face up and has decreased my premenstrual breast pain. My guess is that maybe your body had some type of reaction to it. This is just a GUESS but I know that EPO helps raise progesterone levels so perhaps you already had enough/too much progesterone and not enough estrogen and that could have caused your problems??
Good Luck and let me know if you find anything out!

I've only been taking it for about a month, but I've noticed it's helped my fibrocystic breasts. I'll have to wait a couple more weeks until my period is due to see if it helps with the breast soreness and cramps I always get during that time. My breasts have grown slightly larger, which is great!! No pain though. Maybe your pain has to do with your softball injury (?).
