A few days ago I had unprotected oral sex with another man (this is the last and only time anything like that will ever happen) and I found out later that he was HIV+. I didn't want to tell the doctor that i'd had homosexual contact so I said I had oral sex with a woman instead. He told me to take 2 kaletra (200 mg lopinavir/ 50mg ritonavir) twice a day and 1 truvada (200mg emtricitabine and 245mg tenofovir disoproxil) once a day. Is this the right medication for me to take or do you need to takea difefrent tablet if you've had sexual relations with a male?

Thanks, Rob.

It is recommened that you start PEP(HIV/AIDS medications) within 72 hours of your exposure. Oral sex is a risk but a low risk. After you finish PEP you need to get tested 12 -13 weeks after your last dose of PEP.

Good Luck
