Hi - I've read various information on this and I know my doctor will be the one to tell me but I was just curious what others were told on here.
How long after a colposcopy could you resume using a tampon? I have one friend whose doctor actually inserted a tampon after the procedure to absorb the vinegar solution and or residual blood. I would think they would not normally do that if they ask you not to use tampons for a week or so.
How long after a colposcopy could you resume sexual intercourse? I've again read about one week and others have said you wouldn't want to do it sooner anyway. Once you can have sex again - - does it hurt?
Thanks.

Thanks - interesting too, guess everyone is different. I asked my friend and she said she was fine a week later and felt no pain during intercourse. They say there are so few nerve endings on the cervix so i wonder why some feel pain and some do not. Maybe it also depends on how much they actually biopsy.
I know I am due for my period 6 days after the procedure so it will be 2 weeks before I could anyway.
Thks again.
