My TMJ specialist says that as of now I have responded well to treatment and there is nothing really wrong with me anymore, that is the gist. But the thing is, I still feel pain and he is telling me that it is inmy head and that I am so stressed out that I am manifesting it into physical pain. This totally freaks me out.

What does everyone else think about the link from stress to tmj??

:confused::)

Stress and worry do make my TMJ worse. I think its because when I'm stressed I tense up all my muscles and clench my teeth a lot. I think if your treatment has worked like your dentist says it has, you should have had some relief to your pain an other symptoms, regardless of whether your stress is manifesting itself as physical pain or not. If nothing has improved at all it is your treatment that is not working. Have you decided whether to get a second opinion yet or not? If I were in your position I would try to see someone else, even if it is just a one off visit to get their opinion and not a whole new treatment regime.
